Meet our New Golf Pro, Paula!
Born and raised in Morelia, Mexico, Paula started playing golf at the age of five. At 14 years old, she moved to the United States to attend a junior golf academy, where she focused on both her game and academics. Her dedication to the sport earned her a full scholarship to Clemson University, where she competed on the women’s golf team from 2016 to 2020 while earning a degree in Communications and Entrepreneurship.
During her time at Clemson, she was honored as the ACC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, won her first NCAA individual title, and proudly represented Mexico as a member of the national team on multiple occasions. After graduating, Paula pursued a professional golf career, making her debut on the WAPT Tour in 2020. In 2021, she earned her Epson Tour card and competed across the U.S. until late 2023.
“Playing professional golf was an invaluable experience that challenged me both on and off the course. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of attention to detail—skills that I now carry into my coaching.”
In 2024, she made the decision to step away from competitive golf to focus on the next phase of her career. “Coaching has given me a new perspective on the game, reinforcing the value of patience, communication, and individualized development. Now, I am focused on instruction and player development, using my experience to help others refine their skills and approach the game with confidence.”
We are thrilled to welcome Paula to The Yards team and look forward to her sharing her expertise and passion for the game with our community!
